When the event occurred, she was on a school excursion; a forensic doctor’s investigation revealed that she had many skull fractures.
A Dh700,000 settlement has been given to the family of the girl. The girl suffered severe injuries when a swing in a public park in Al Ain crashed on her head while playing.
The lower court’s previous decision ordering the park administration to compensate the child’s family was affirmed by the Al Ain Appeals Court. However, the court raised the award from Dh400,000 to Dh700,000.
According to official court records, the girl’s father filed a complaint demanding Dh3 million as compensation for the physical, ethical, and material harm his daughter experienced against the management of the public park in Al Ain and the organization in charge of monitoring, supervising and following up on its activities.
He brought up how his daughter had attended a field trip in the Al Ain public park, where a swing had fallen on the children. The swing struck his kid in the head, seriously hurting her. According to a forensic doctor’s assessment, the child had injuries to her face, neck, and several fractures in her skull.
