Due to a lack of evidence, the court dismissed the petition of a woman who claimed that her brother’s abusive message on a relative’s WhatsApp group had broken her ties with her family.
According to official court documents, the Arab woman sued her brother. She asked that he pay her Dh200,000 in damages for the material, moral, and psychological suffering she incurred due to the insulting and demeaning message he published on the family WhatsApp group.
She added that the message affected her ties with numerous family members and created tensions between her and them.
The defendant stated no harm was done to the plaintiff while refuting the claims made against him throughout the court hearing. According to him, his sister and the rest of the family still got along well.
The Al Ain Regional Trial Court judge dismissed the lawsuit after hearing from all parties because there wasn’t enough evidence to support her assertions.
Additionally, the woman will fund her brother’s legal bills.
