Doha: To accommodate an increase in tourists to Doha for the World Cup of soccer and to keep up with a higher post-pandemic boom, Qatar Airways is growing its personnel by 10,000 people, the carrier told Reuters.

After COVID, Qatar Airways is on the ascent, and with World Cup preparations in full force, the carrier is stepping up recruiting across the board, the company said in a statement to Reuters this week.
How many of the new roles will be permanent was not stated by the airline. At the height of the pandemic in 2020, the airline reduced its destination options to 33 locations. In 2021, it reduced its workforce to under 37,000 people. The airline explained its operations for 150 different places
Towards the end of September, The spokeswoman added that “the Philippines, India, and other countries undertook to recruit events.” The number of additional personnel on duty when Qatar hosts the World Cup for the first time in the Middle East on November 20 is unknown.
To provide a place for extra planes coming into Doha during the tournament, Qatar Airways is changing 70% of its timetable. In addition, some flights got cancelled, and the frequency decreased. Other airlines will considerably boost their flights to Qatar, which has renovated an old airport in preparation for the rivalry. Akbar al-Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, cautioned the media earlier this year that it would be impossible to fulfil the swiftly altering demand for such enormous audiences.
