Two persons got sentenced to prison for pretending to be police and abducting an investor. Additionally, they took the SAR1.25 million (more than Dh1.2 million) in his hands.
“The case’s specifics go back to late February when an Asian investor reported that two people robbed him of Asian and Gulf origin.”
The victim also said that “the first and second criminals identified themselves as CID officers and asked what was in his luggage. They then asked him to accompany them as they headed to the police station to verify the validity of his money. The sufferer got into a car with them.”
According to him, “the first defendant took the car to Al Nahda in Dubai before asking him to exit the vehicle and leave the luggage behind. As soon as he descended, the burglar dashed back to the car and stole the cash.”
Both of the suspects get recognized by a team conducting the inquiry. With SAR56,000, police took one of them into custody. After checking his residence, another Dh130,000 got discovered. Through several bank transactions, he had sent a portion of the stolen money back to his place of origin.
