UAE issues warning as floods on the Greek island of Crete leave one dead and two missing

Due to the storm and flood, the UAE Embassy in Athens, Greece, has advised all Emiratis traveling on the island of Crete to take extra caution.

The embassy has advised everyone to contact them and let them know where they are.

The embassy underscores how crucial it is to comply with the safety guidelines offered by the Greek government, the embassy wrote in a tweet on Saturday.

Emergency workers reported that “two individuals disappeared and a man was found dead on Saturday after major floods devastated the Greek island of Crete due to significant rain.” In seaside villages, where streets have transformed into rivers that are sweeping everything in their path, there have been reports of catastrophic devastation. The Civil Defence agency asked, “all the citizens of Crete and the nearby islands of Rhodes, Karpathos, Kastellorizo, and Kasos.”
